Horses often have white markings of various shapes on their face. Some common face markings are a star (a star-shaped marking between or just above the eyes); a blaze (a wide strip down the middle of the face); and a stripe (a narrow strip down the middle of the face). Some horses have a snip (a small strip on the muzzle, between the nostrils) or a white face (white hair covering almost the entire face).
